Nightfall by Isaac Asimov. In a way I was right, this Nightfall novel is not an improvement of the story but I was wrong to assume that it would not be worth reading. With this setup it is always daytime on this nighffall, some hours are dimmer than others as the suns are of different sizes or distances from the planet.
